Installation Overview
To install Project Sync add-in for Microsoft Project you will need to visit https://app.pdms.io (or a regional version) as an authenticated user with a license to use Project Sync.
The installation process relies on Microsoft Click Once Installer technology. Typically, the installation doesn’t require any elevated user permissions and/or firewall settings, however, in some highly secure environments, additional steps might be required. Important note: add-in installation requires using Microsoft Edge, other browsers are not supported for this operation.
Installation Step by Step
- Navigate to https://app.pdms.io and click the Login button in the top right corner of the page.
- In the following screen, select the appropriate region and click the Login with Microsoft Account button. Note: region selection is more important for the first login to ensure the account gets created in the proper location. During the subsequent logins, the tool will offer switching to a proper location automatically.
- Complete the authentication using your work account
- Navigate to the Project Desktop tab and click the link titled Click here to install Project Desktop Add-in.
- Click the Open button in the following dialog box to confirm the installation.
- Click the Install button to start the installation process.
- Click the Close button to close the installation dialog box.
- The Microsoft Project add-in is installed and is ready to use. It will show up in the Microsoft Project menu ribbon when it is started.
