Project Sync Configuration Overview
When launching the Project Sync add-in for the first time, the user is required to perform the following actions:
- Login to the add-in using the work account with the assigned Project Sync license.
- Establish the Project Desktop Connection to the target PowerApps/Dynamics environment.
On the following add-in launches, the tool will preserve the state, remembering the user session unless it is unused for a prolonged period of time. The created Project Desktop Connection can be used to synchronize as many projects in the target environment as needed.
First Launch Step by Step
- Launch the Project Professional and navigate to the Project Sync menu ribbon.
- Click the Preview Synchronization button opening a pop-up browser window.
- Authenticate with your work account (see previous section for any additional details).
- Once authenticated, click the pre-created Project Desktop Connection #1 or click the New Project Desktop Connection button.
- Leave the Project Desktop selected as a default authentication method and click the Login button.
- Wait for the popup window offering account selection.
- Select your work account and wait for the authentication completion.
- Select your PowerApps/Dynamics org in the drop-down list and click the Confirm button.
- Wait for the projects list to be loaded.
- The Project Sync is configured and ready to use.
