Introduction
This article describes the pre-requisites to start the Project Online to Planner Premium migration process.
Authentication
Project Online
- The Administrative Consent for the "PDS Authentication App" Entra ID App is required to be obtained by the tenant admin. The exact application is different for each location and can be obtained via the PDS UI.
- Make sure the Project Online PWA URL field is populated.
- Once the Admin Consent is obtained, click the Login button to authenticate as a user with the following permissions:
- "Site Collection Administrator" SharePoint role for the PWA Site Collection
- [in case of Project Online security model] - membership in the PWA Administrator group
- Complete the authentication process.
Planner
- To authenticate to Planner, select Device authentication method and click Login
- Complete the authentication process as a user who is a member of one of the following roles in a target Dataverse environment: "System Administrator" or "System Customizer".
- Important note: the Conditional Access Policies defined in Azure Entra ID should allow the Device authentication flow for the migration user. More details: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/conditional-access/policy-block-authentication-flows
